Why Use A Recruitment Agency?

By Clare Westwood

The top reasons why using a recruitment consultant makes sense.

The job market has proved to be fairly challenging for recruitment agencies. This guide looks at the reasons why using a recruitment agency can be good for your business.

Although the current economy is less than ideal it does not mean that there is a never ending supply of highly qualified candidates, a high quality recruitment agent will use lots of methods and techniques to find a suitable candidate for you.

Speed is an important issue to consider, almost all clients who attempt to sort their own recruitment out will be slower filling the position than a recruitment consultant would, this is due to them having their normal job duties to carry out and prioritise before attempting to fill the vacancy.

Recruiters also learn to recognise people and their CV's and build up a history on candidates. By using a recruiter you will therefore reduce your chances of hiring somebody who has fabricated their past.

Recruitment companies also look into the skills of each candidate a lot further in general. Most professional recruiters will assess several different candidate skills and competencies whereas a client may just read the candidates CV.

When you are looking for temporary workers the selection process differs a bit, most clients do not have the time or experience o quickly employ temporary staff. Recruiters usually have large databases full of temporary staff waiting to start work.

It is sometimes better to have a 'middle man' when clients are recruiting directly they have nobody to act as a go between whereas if they have a consultant working with them they can get professional advice on how to make job offers or rejections.

High calibre recruitment consultants know their niche well therefore they can provide brilliant advice to clients on a wide variety of different topics such as availability, salary expectations and benefits, as well as hiring timeframes etc.
