Benefiting From Trade Show Displays

By Douglas Rathbone

The warmer months tend to bring more industry shows as people also are more likely to travel and network. Anyone who is looking to make their brand stand out should definitely look into shows in or near their area and find one that is a great fit. They should also note the type of trade show displays that their competition may be offering the public.

One favor people can do for their brand is to see these types of shows as an investment opportunity as opposed to an expense. The collection of primary and secondary data will help to determine realistic conversion numbers and help to expand the existing customer base. This may sound complex but it is actually very simple and inexpensive.

By looking through industry periodicals, blogs, and social networks, anyone can get an honest opinion of what customers are looking for. Getting timely data will have a great impact on the improvement of existing products but it can influence a marketing campaign as well. This is a lot more sensible than spending all of a marketing budget on an elaborate display that is pointless.

Then there are those who have these microscopic budgets that allow for little creativity or freedom. While some have succeeded with this modest approach, they do have to work harder to make a strong presentation. This usually takes a strong elevator pitch and some aggressive sales tactics.

Ideally, display furnishings, promotional items, and anything else used to attract visitors should be presented in a practical layout that is inviting. Those running the booth should be comfortable as well since they are the face, so to speak. When the environment is physically comfortable as opposed to flashy or skimpy, this can be the start of a great relationship.

Trade show booths should also be comfortable for the person in charge as well. It is difficult to give an effective elevator pitch when the furniture used is a metal folding chair and card table. While some see this as frugal, it can actually cause physical harm when done routinely.

When it comes to planning a display booth that will serve many purposes, it pays to choose wisely and not select the option that costs the least amount of money. This is a big day of promotions and networking so making a good impression should be the first priority. This is why trade show displays can play an integral part of brand success.
