The Charitable Ways of a Collection Company

By Rob Sutter

The collection company business is one that I can safely say does not receive all of the good acclaim that it deserves. I say this because for just about negative story you hear about when concerning these businesses, you can believe that they are going to be riddled with people who will slander it. Why is it that people don't pay attention to the more uplifting reports, though? A collection agency is home to many of them and they have proven themselves to be inclined to help others.

I recently stumbled upon an article on the Inside Arm and it basically talked about the savings that the collection company business has brought to charity. It spoke about a New York-based agency and it was responsible for over $25,000 raised for causes with those in need. If you didn't think that these companies had the ability to help people, this story should be able to turn the tides of those differing opinions. This instance only helps reputable agencies like R.R.S. more so.

Considering only the Goodwill Food and Clothing drive that came into the picture, there has been a limit exceeding $15,000 seen. I believe that this is very telling, since there are many causes which came into play here. People wanted to be able to help and there are organizations to bring this cause to even higher levels like the Salvation Army, which did well for itself in this regard as well. I think that a number of groups can potentially become involved more often in these cases.

It's not like this industry is going to suddenly stop receiving negative stories because, in truth, people like reporting on the rare instances of negatively. Very few people focus on the feel-good stories and this is definitely one of the more recent, not to mention noteworthy, ones. There has definitely been a sense of charity amongst the workers, in my opinion. They decided to take their efforts outside of the workplace in order to help those who require a helping hand on the matter.

If nothing else, I believe that this kind of story should drive others to help out those in need as well. If these companies, which are supposedly so terrible, can bring about profits, I'm under the impression that just about anyone can. It's not like it'd be difficult, either, since helping out others does not have to be a chore. It can actually be done easily, especially with a group like the collection company in this story has banded together as.
